The setting in the middle of the village is of lovely cottages with period houses and the village also features the Broadwindsor Craft and Design Centre, featuring local crafts. The village square is much-photographed, especially King Charles Cottage, the place where King Charles II stayed the night September 22/23 after his flight from the battle of Worcester.Read more
The Lewesdon and Pilsdon hills are local landmarks with Lewesdon deemed to be the highest in the county, but there is some good natured bantering as to whether or not Pilsdon is actually the highest hill. Lewesden hill is well worth a visit at Bluebell time.
Broadwindsor has a village shop and has one pub which serves food throughout the week. A short trip in the car will bring you to an array of many different options.Read less
