Shipton Hill View is aptly named as it is located in Shipton Gorge, near Bridpot and does indeed have a rather wonderful view of the surrounding countryside including Shipton Hill. This pet friendly bungalow is all on one level and is just a 5 minute drive to the beach. Updated in 2016 the inside has been redecorated with new sofas and soft furnishings installed. But it is really the outside that makes this property stand out with its long and level rear garden, large expanses of lawn to enjoy games on, dine al fresco with amazing views or just to sit in for total relaxation in the peace and quiet. The local pub, the New Inn, is managed and run by the local community and provides home cooked food and local ales.
The accommodation at Shipton Hill View comprises of an L shaped lounge/diner with large patio doors to the outside, TV, DVD player, iPod dock and WiFi. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms, both arranged as twins. There is a bathroom with bath with shower over and basin and a separate toilet with hand basin.
outside is the large, lawned rear garden with those amazing countryside views and picnic table. Shipton Hill View accepts up to two well behaved pets. There is off road parking for two cars. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
Bridport is a market town on the Jurassic coast. The clay cliffs are abundant with fossils making the area popular with fossil hunters. Its most famous landmark is the view of the conical Colmers Hill with small clump of trees aligned with West Steet. Bridport has an arts centre, cinema, library and museum. The museum includes an extensive exhibition of the town's long history of rope-making and is open 10am - 5pm daily except Sunday from Easter until the end of October. Entry and access to all exhibitions is free. The Bridport Literary Festival has been running since 2005 and has played host to the industries biggest names. The Food Festival is held in late June at Asker Meadow and showcases locally produced foods for which the area is well known. The Food Festival week concludes with the Round Table Beer Festival. The town holds its annual carnival on the third Saturday in August.Read more
