Field View Cottage is located in higher Eype and is a semi detached cottage about a 10 minute walk to lower Eype. So close to the sea yet this cottage is set in wonderful countryside really giving you the best of both worlds. In addition, Field View Cottage accepts up to two well behaved pets and the local pub is also pet friendly. Just to the West of West Bay lies Eype. Eype enjoys a long pebble beach (Eypemouth Beach) that is dog friendly all year round. The South West Coast Path passes just above the beach and affords wonderful views over the coast and East Ebb Cove. There are plenty of places to eat out with The Smugglers Bar, Martin's Bar and Grill, The New Inn and a little further out Downhouse Farm Cafe. But you are so close to West Bay a very pleasant walk will take you to over 10 more choices of eatery and Bridport is just 1 mile away giving you even more choice and 2 excellent weekly markets. Plenty of things to do nearby including taking a canoe tour down the River Brit, going on a white knuckle rib ride along the coast, taking a tour of nearby Palmers Brewery, going on a Jurassic Ebike adventure or looking for fossils on one of the many guided walks.
The accommodation at Field View Cottage comprises of a sitting room with log burner, TV and WiFi enabled throughout. The kitchen has a dining area and is equipped with a gas range style cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The shower room rounds off the ground floor. There are two bedrooms, arranged as a king size double with bathroom with bath with hand held shower, basin and toilet on the second floor and a king size double and a bunk room on the first floor. A cot and highchair can be provided upon request.
Outside is a garden with lawned area and a seating area. There is unrestricted parking in the lane directly outside the cottage. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
With the stunning golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs and the shimmering radiance of Golden Cap, West Bay is the Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Formerly known as Bridport Harbour, West Bay lies just 2 miles away from Bridport and has a small harbour, 2 piers and 2 beaches one of which is part of Chesil Beach. West Bay was made famous as the location of a television series by the BBC called Harbour Lights, which aired in 1999 and 2000 and starred Nick Berry. At the top of the cliff lies the Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club with a full 18-hole course and 9-hole "pitch and putt" course in the summer season.
