Crays Cottage is situated in Lyme Regis in a delightful riverside location just a 10 minute stroll to the town centre and the sandy beach. This spacious cottage is located in the heart of this popular town and makes the perfect choice for those looking for a relaxing seaside cottage with all the amenities on your doorstep. Famed for its fossils and geology, the historic old town retains an olde worlde charm with small streets filled with galleries, boutique shops and famed gastro restaurants and cafes. Its sheltered south facing beaches are safe for children and water sports enthusiasts alike with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour. For those who would like a change of scene and a day away from the beach, the surrounding rolling countryside, which is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts walking and cycling in abundance. Thankfully Crays Cottage accepts one well behaved pet so all can come and enjoy this wonderful cottage and walks.

The accommodation at Crays Cottage comprises of a lounge furnished with sofa, armchairs, TV, DVD player and WiFi. The kitchen comes equipped with a an electric hob and double oven, microwave and fridge with ice box and leading off the kitchen is a cloakroom which also houses a washer/dryer. A dining room with table and chairs for six rounds off the ground floor. Upstairs are three bedrooms arranged as a double with en suite shower room with basin and toilet, a single and a second double. The family bathroom has a bath with mixer taps, toilet and basin.

Outside is a small rear garden ideal for sitting out. Please note the ground is uneven so small children will need to be supervised. There is parking to the front of the property for one medium sized car. Your fuel and power are included in the price.

Lyme Regis

Lyme Regis, nicknamed 'The Pearl of Dorset' is the most westerly town in Dorset and lies on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The town is famed for its fossils which can be found on its beaches and cliffs. The famous harbour wall known as 'The Cobb' featued in the film and novel of The French Lieutenant's Woman by John Fowles as well as Jane Austen's Persuasion.

Lyme Regis has quite a history and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. These days, areas of interest include the Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium which displays local fish and marine life from the Jurassic Coast. The Town Mill dates back to 1340 and is fully restored to working order and still produces flour which can be purchased from its shop. Lyme Regis Museum houses a large collection of local memorabilia, historical items and exhibits explaining the local geological and palaeontological treasures. Set into the pavement, outside the museum, is an ornate example of Coade stone work, in the form of ammonites. The Dinosaurland Fossil Museum is also located in Lyme Regis in the former church where Mary Anning, famous fossil collector, dealer, and paleontologist was christened.
