Carters Cottage is one of three holiday cottages that make up The Old Timberyard in the conservation village of Puncknowle which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With 4 acres of grounds to explore you can carry on your adventures through the many footpaths that criss-cross the area. The coast is just one and a half miles away with West Bay and Bridport close by. Abbotsbury is just a short drive with children's farm, swannery and sub-tropical gardens all worth a visit but I would not try to do all in one day!
The accommodation at Carters Cottage comprises of a spacious living room with French doors leading to the garden, Freeview TV, DVD player and radio/CD player. There is a dining room the table and chairs for eight and the fully tiled kitchen comes equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher with a washing machine and tumble dryer in a utility. There is a toilet and boot room which rounds off the ground floor. Upstairs there are four bedrooms. Two are arranged as a double, one with an en-suite shower room with toilet and basin, one twin bedroom and one bunk room. The family bathroom has bath with shower over, basin and toilet. A travel cot and highchair can be provided upon request.
Outside you have a private garden complete with table and chairs as well as shared fields totalling 4 acres. There is parking for two cars as well as space to park boats/trailers. Carters Cottage accepts up to two well behaved pets. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
With the stunning golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs and the shimmering radiance of Golden Cap, West Bay is the Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Formerly known as Bridport Harbour, West Bay lies just 2 miles away from Bridport and has a small harbour, 2 piers and 2 beaches one of which is part of Chesil Beach. West Bay was made famous as the location of a television series by the BBC called Harbour Lights, which aired in 1999 and 2000 and starred Nick Berry. At the top of the cliff lies the Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club with a full 18-hole course and 9-hole "pitch and putt" course in the summer season.
